The effect of ortho-para composition of hydrogen isotope molecule on muoncatalyzed fusion (μCF) phenomenon in solid, liquid, and gaseous deuterium has been clearly observed. A drastic difference between the ortho-para effect in liquid phase and that in gas phase has been discovered. The ortho-para effect only in gas has been qualitatively consistent with the theoretical prediction without the condensed matter effect.
