La presente investigacion se concentra en analizar el desarrollo de la comunidad de Curridabat durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, a partir de una perspectiva vinculada a la microhistoria y tomando en cuenta algunos postulados de la geografia historica. De este modo, los tres ejes centrales son la caracterizacion del paisaje cantonal, la presencia medular del cultivo cafe y la influencia que tuvo la reconstruccion del templo catolico. Esto ultimo, influyo en cierto grado, a estimular el proceso de urbanizacion que se daria en las siguientes decadas; pues el inmueble funciono como un punto de referencia para las identidades locales. Abstract This research focuses on analyzing the development of the Curridabat community during the first half of the twentieth century, from a perspective linked to the micro-history and taking into account some assumptions of historical geography. Thus, the three central themes are the cantonal landscape characterization; the influence of the coffee crops and the rebuilding of the Catholic Church. The latter influenced to some degree, to stimulate the process of urbanization that would occur in the next decades, for the building functioned as a benchmark for local identities.
