The objective of the study was to determine the presence of F. hepatica larvae and the species of snails that are intermediary hosts of F. hepatica in altitudes over 4000 m above the sea level (masl). The study covered three altitudes (4000-4200, 4200-4300, 4300-4500 masl) and was collected 150 snails per each altitude during the rainy season (January-March, 2004).
