An anatomical and anthropological study on the female skeleton of the Mukonoda keyholeshaped (square front circular rear) mound was made. The mound is 88.5m long. The cranium showed not only the hyperleptoprosop type, but also the hypsikonch type of the orbit. These features are common to those of the TOKUGAWA shoguns and their families, and the HOSOKAWA feudal lords's families. But the nasal breadth of the Mukonoda is wider than these early modern nobles. PENROSE's shape distances proves that the Mukonoda cranium has the features of the Western protohistoric series and is distinctly different from the Kinai series. The age of death of the Mukonoda female skeleton was estimated in her later thirties.
