El proposito de este articulo es la indagacion del contexto literario e intelectual de las primeras referencias bibliograficas de la obra cervantina, centrandose en el estudio del encomio de Lorenzo Ramirez de Prado en el Viaje del Parnaso y los vinculos biograficos, literarios e intelectuales de Cervantes con otros miembros de esa familia, entre los que se encuentra Pedro de Valencia. Abstract: The aim of this paper is to explore the literary and intellectual context of the earliest bibliographical reception of Cervantes’s works. It focuses on a study of Lorenzo Ramirez de Prado’s encomium of Cervantes’s Voyage to Parnassus in conjunction with an analysis of the biographical, literary and intellectual connections of the author and other members of his family, including Pedro de Valencia.
