En este articulo se estudia el modo en que la poetica pastoril resulta ser un referente vital para don Quijote en el contexto de toda la obra (de 1605 a 1615), procedente de sus lecturas y asimilado a partir de circunstancias y episodios surgidos a lo largo de su deambular. En este sentido son singularmente importantes, por ejemplo, los capitulos relativos a la Penitencia en Sierra Morena, en el Quijote I, y el de la fingida Arcadia en el Quijote II. Sin embargo, el proyecto pastoril de don Quijote queda interrumpido a la hora de su muerte, de modo paralelo a como Cervantes, a pesar de prometer hasta el final de su vida una segunda parte de La Galatea, nunca llego a concluirla. Abstract: This article studies that the pastoral poetry is a vital concerning for Don Quixote in the context of the whole work (from 1605-1615). This theme comes from his readings and it is assimilated from circumstances and events that happen along his way. In this sense, chapters from the Penitencia in Sierra Morena, in Quijote I, and the fingida Arcadia in Quijote II are singularly important. However, the pastoral project of Don Quixote was interrupted at his death. At the same time, Cervantes, despite of promising until the end of his life a second part of La Galatea, never get to finish it.
