Mixed micellization behavior of an amphiphilic phenothiazinedrug promazine hydrochloride (PMZ) in the presence of conventionaldodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) as well as gemini1,4-bis( N -dodecyl- N , N -dimethylammonium)butanebromide (12-4-12) cationic surfactants has been studied at fourdifferent fixed temperatures and compositions by conductometrictechnique. The experimental data have been analysed by consideringdifferent theoretical models of Clint, Rubingh, Motomura andRodenas. The cmc and cmc id  values indicate mixedmicelle formation between the components and strong synergism isobserved in the mixed systems. The micellar (actual) molefractions of surfactants( χ  1  Rub ,χ  1  M ,χ  1  Rod  andχ  1  id ), calculated on thebasis of different theoretical proposed models used in the presentstudy, show greater contribution of surfactants in mixedmicelles. Activity coefficients ( f  1and  f  2 ) are always less than unityindicating nonideality in the systems. Thermodynamic parametersare also evaluated and discussed which suggest that at highertemperatures dehydration of hydrophobic part of the drug takesplace.
