C 15 Cl 3 H 19 O 2 Te,  M r   = 465.25, ( 1 ),  P 2 1 / a ,  a  = 9.8303(9),  b  = 17.492(2),  c  = 10.911(1) Å,  β  = 108.521(8)°,  Z  = 4,  R  1  = 0.0274. ( 2 ),  P 2 1 / c ,  a  = 8.2661(9),  b  = 22.863(2),  c  = 9.828(1) Å,  β  = 108.894(8)°,  Z  = 4,  R  1  = 0.0379. In both compounds, the primary geometry of the Te IV  atom is a pseudo-trigonal-bipyramidal arrangement with two halide atoms in apical positions and a lone pair of electrons and C atoms in the equatorial plane. In ( 1 ), the Te IV  atom is involved in an intermolecular secondary interaction resulting in the self-assembly of a chain-like supramolecular array. In ( 2 ), molecules are linked in centrosymmetric dimers through Cl···H–O interactions.
