The  N,N ′-chelated tin atom in triphenyltin trifluoroacetate–3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, C 36 H 31 F 39 N 2 O 2 Sn, is six-coordinate, the atom existing in a  mer -octahedral [Sn–C = 2.145(5) Å, 2.149(5) Å, 2.175(5) Å; C–Sn–C = 97.9(2)°, 102.7(2)°, 159.0(2)°] coordination geometry. Crystals of the adduct belong to the monoclinic  P 2 1 / c  space group, with  a  = 9.170(1) Å,  b  = 10.372(1) Å,  c  = 33.041(4) Å,  β  = 95.05(1)°.
