(CO) 2 ( η  3 -C 6 H 11 )PPh 3 Co crystallizes in space group  P 2 1 / c  with  a  = 12.602(5) Å  b  = 20.274(9) Å,  c  = 9.575(4) Å,  β  = 105.60(3)°,  Z  = 4,  D x   = 1.298 g · cm −3 ,  R  = 5.6% for the 2819 observed reflections. The cobalt atom has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination with P and C3 of the  η  3 -butenyl ligand at the axial positions [[unk]P–Co–C3 = 160°; Co–Cl = 2.10, Co–C3 = 2.11, Co–(CO) = 1.74 and 1.76, Co–P = 2.195 Å].
