Crystals of  bis -N-butylsalicylaldimine-Zn belong to the space group  P [unk]; the lattice constants are  a  = 14.21 Å,  c  = 5.33 Å. The isotypism of the homologous Zn and Co complexes follow from the comparison of powder data. Evidence of tetrahedral coordination in these complexes has been also found.
