There is an increasing tendency towards the use of combinedMR/PET scanners and combined MR-Linac (Linear accelerator) systemsin both clinical and research settings. The current work thereforeinvestigated the effects of ionising radiation on the acquired MRsignal, both experimentally and using a simple theoreticalmodel. We have observed a phase signal change in the radiated areainside a water phantom.  However, the theoretical basis of thisobservation is not fully covered by the employed model and needsfurther research.
