Portable bioimpedance measurement devices afford importantsolutions for providing measurement information non-invasivelyabout patients' health in both clinical and home environments. Inthis work a portable bioimpedance spectrometer was developed formeasurements in the frequency range between 1 kHz and 1 MHz inorder to record the  β -dispersion in the entiremost interesting frequency range for the characterization of thepathological status of patients. The wide impedance range between10 Ω to 10 kΩ was chosen for measurements comprising even the lowimpedances important in special medical applications such asmonitoring of lung edema.
