This paper presents a new concept of a digital speckle pattern interferometer with radial in-plane sensitivity. The interferometer uses a special diffractive optical element and a particular design that makes it non sensitive to laser wavelength. A compact design makes it robust enough to be used for in-field measurement. Applications of this interferometer to build robust devices for 2D displacement, mechanical stresses and residual stresses measurement are presented in this paper.
