Die Idee der virtuellen Inbetriebnahme wird von Werkzeugmaschinen auf materialflussintensive Produktionsanlagen übertragen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass der Materialfluss für die Aussagekraft der Simulation wesentlich ist. Ausgehend vom CAD-Modell wird ein reduziertes Geometriemodell um ein Physik- und Kinematikmodell erweitert. Auf Basis dieses Modells wird die Simulation für die virtuelle Inbetriebnahme durchgeführt. Anhand eines realitätsnahen Anwendungsszenarios wird die praktische Nutzbarkeit gezeigt.
