1,3-Dimethyl-2-iminoimidazoline (4, ImNH) reacts with CS 2  to give the imidazolium salt [ImNH 2 ][(ImNCS 2 ) 2 H] (7) in which two dithioformimide fragments are linked by a hydrogen bridge. From the trimethylsilyl derivative ImNSiMe 3  (11) and CS 2  the adduct ImNSiMe 3  • CS 2  (12) is obtained which reacts with oxygen to give the disulfide (ImNCS 2 ) (14). The X-ray structures of 7 and 14 were determined.
