The photolytically induced CO-substitution reaction of CpMn(CO) 3  with N-benzyl-aziridine leads to the first mono coordinate aziridine complex,. It is stable against thermal C 2 H 4  elimination up to 135°C. No nitrene complexes {Cp(CO) 2 Mn} n NBz (n = 1, 2) were detected.
