Glas forming regions and glass temperatures of the system P 4 S 4 –As 4 S 4 –As 4 Se 4 –P 4 Se 4  have been determined by thermoanalytical and X-ray methods. In the whole system crystalline samples have been obtained by annealing. From the pure phases As 4 S 4  and P 4 Se 4  broad regions of solid solutions extend into the system. In the P 4 S 4  corner the formation of A 4 B 3  (A = P, As; B = S, Se) molecules is observed.
