The electrochemical oxidation of Cd in acetonitrile solution of 1-hydroxy-2-pyridinethione (HPT) and 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy) affords [Cd(PT) 2 (bipy)] · H 2 O and [Cd(PT)(bipy) 2 ]ClO 4 · 1/4(bipy). The crystal structure of the perchlorate salt shows the molecule to have a distorted octahedral CdN 4 OS skeleton.
