The  35 Cl NQR frequencies of A 2 PdCl 6  were studied. For A = (CH 3 ) 4 N +  a clathrate [(CH 3 ) 4 N] 2 PdCl 6  · Cl 2  was found and its crystal structure was determined (Fd3 c, Z = 32, a = 2554.5 pm, R = 0.062). The clathrate [(CH 3 ) 4 N] 2 SnCl 6  · Cl 2  was prepared, too. It is isomorphous with the corresponding palladium salt. The results of the  35 Cl NQR studies are discussed on the basis of the crystal structure.
