The reactions of Cp 2 ZrCl 2 , CpCp*ZrCl 2  and CpCp*HfCl 2  (Cp* = C 5 Me 5  , Cp = C 5 H 5 ) with Me 3 SnNSNSnMe 3  yield the compounds Cp 2 Zr(NSN) 2 ZrCp 2  (1), CpCp*Zr(NSN) 2  ZrCpCp* (2) and CpCp*Hf(NSN) 2 HfCpCp* (3) as thermally and air-stable yellow solids. 2 and 3 exist as two different isomers with identical cyclopentadienyl-groups located on the same or on the opposite side of the metallacycle.
