The first bis(cyclotriphosphano)phosphane ( t -BuP) 2 P -P(Me)-P ( t -BuP) 2  (1) has been synthesized by reacting ( t -BuP) 2 PSnMe 3  with MePCl 2  in the molar ratio 2:1. With equimolar amounts of the reactants the chlorom ethylphosphino cyclotriphosphane ( t -BuP) 2 P -P(Me)Cl (2) has been obtained. 1 represents a novel P 7 R 5  structure type in addition to the types already known [4, 5]. The NMR parameters of 1 and 2 are reported and discussed
