Amino-trichloromethylphosphane 2 and -trichlorosilylphosphane 3 are available from the reactions of bis(trimethylsilyl)aminophosphane 1 with tetrachloromethane and tetrachlorosilane, respectively. While compound 2 can be converted into the methylenephosphane 4 by a β-elimination of hydrogenchloride, 3 eliminates silicochloroform to give the diphosphane 6. In contrast to compound 2, the reaction of the sterically more hindered bis(dimethyl-tert-butyl)aminophosphane 7 with tetrachloromethane yields the corresponding secondary aminochlorophosphane 10.
