Compounds of the type R 2 PCH 2 PR 2  (R = Pr i O, Me 2 N) react with cis-LM(CO) 4  (L = Bicyclo[2,2,1]hepta-2,5-dien; M = Cr, Mo, W) complexes to yield cis-substituted [R 2 PCH 2 PR 2 ]M(CO) 4  derivatives. The structure of the molybdenum compound, [(Pr i O) 2 PCH 2 P(OPr i ) 2 ]Mo(CO) 4 , has been determined. Diphosphorus ligands of the type R 2 P(S)CH 2 PR 2  (R = F, Pr i O) are monodentate and form [R 2 P(S)CH 2 PR 2 ] 2 Mo(CO) 4  complexes, whereas the compound (Me 2 N) 2 P(S)CH 2 P(NMe 2 ) 2  acts as a bidentate ligand
