Photoreactions of 2-exo-bromo-5,6,7,8,9,9- hexachloro-1,2,4 a, 5,8,8 a-hexahydro-5,8-methanonaphthaline (1) were studied in the presence of acetophenone. With the help of column chromatography an unusual isomerisation product (3) was isolated, whose structure was established by spectral data obtained by mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, and  1 H nuclear magnetic resonance measurements.
