Some new aspects of the synthesis and reactivity of nitrosyl complexes are given. The complexes [Cr(NO)(NCS 5 ] 3- , [Mo(NO)(NCS) 4 ] 2-  [3a], [Os(NO)(NCS) 5 ] 2-  and [Mo(NO)(CN) 5 ] 3-  have been isolated as tetraphenylphosphonium salts.
