Qualitative and quantitative determination of the volatile fragments demonstrates different modes of cleavage. These fragments can be identified as: ethene, carbon dioxide, a methyl ketone, a β-keto acid ethyl ester, ethanol, diethyl malonate and a monocarboxylic ethyl ester.
