Copper (I) chloride has been used for the potentiometric determination of sulphur compounds, namely, n-dodecane-thiol, toluene-α-thiol, thiophenol, monothioglycerol, 2-mercaptoethanol and β-mercaptopropionic, thioglycollic, thiobenzoic and thiosalicylic acids. The determinations are possible even in the presence of their corresponding oxygen derivatives and results within an accuracy of ± 0.4% have been obtained.
