Nach Plasmolyse-Versuchen in stoffwechsel-inhibierenden Hypertonika wird mittels Analyse der Preßsäfte und Kryoskopie der Versuchsmedien an der marinen Siphonocladiale Cladophora gracilis (GRIFF.) KUETZING gezeigt, daß Volumänderungen von Protoplasten in höhermolekularen Plasmolytika auf aktiven Wasserverschiebungen beruhen können. Somit lassen Plasmolysewerte von Pflanzenzellen keine unmittelbaren funktionellen oder strukturellen Schlüsse zu. Atmungsgifte können im Plasmolyse-Versuch zur Ermittlung nichtosmotischen Wasserbindungs-Vermögens dienen. Die aktive Wasserspeicherung wird zu labilen Vakuolenkolloiden, die nichtosmotische Wasseraufnahme zu cytoplasmatischen Transport-Mechanismen in Beziehung gesetzt.
