Für 1.2-Dioxy-1.2.3.4-tetrahydro-Verbindungen polycyclischer aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe, die Interesse als Hydrierungsprodukte von Umwandlungsformen aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe im Säugetierorganismus besitzen, wird eine neue Darstellungsweise angegeben. 4-Oxo- bzw. 1-Oxo-1.2.3.4-tetrahydro-phenanthren werden über die α-Brom-Ketone in die α-Acetoxy-Ketone übergeführt, welche bei der Reduktion nach Meerwein-Ponndorf ein Gemisch von cis- und trans-Dioxy-tetrahydrophenanthrenen ergeben.
