The association constant of acetic acid in 1.02 m (NaCl) aqueous solution has been determined potentiometrically at temperatures up to 260 °C and pressures up to 1005 bar. A high-temperature high-pressure concentration cell having two hydrogen electrodes has been used for the measurement. The apparent association constant Q′ HAC  increases with increasing temperature but decreases with increasing pressure:
