The separation coefficient of copper isotopes,  63 Cu and  65 Cu, in the electromigration process through cation exchange m em brane was experimentally determined as 3.2 x l0 - 4 . The appropriate heating condition of low ionizing filament current for thermo-ionization mass spectrometry was developed and this method was applied to the copper isotope analysis in the present work.
