The present work reports the observation of one of the two "missing" modes in FeS 2  (pyrite) by means of the ATR(attenuated total reflection)-method as a supplement to a paper by Lutz, Kliche, and Haeuseler (1981). The two highest polariton dispersion branches ω=ω (k) have also been measured with this technique.
