It is shown that the behaviour of the highly ionized and magnetized plasma in the positive column of the hollow cathode arc (described in Part I of this investigation) may be well explained with the macroscopic equations on basis of the MHD ordering (eE r  ⪢ ⊿p/n e ). In particular the rotation of the plasma column around its axis is properly described by an equation for the electrical potential.
