A simple procedure for investigating the solubility curves of weakly doped light-transmissive crystals is described. The experimental method of determination is based on the temperature and time dependent light scattering. The concentration of the dopant is determined by atomic absorption. The usability of the method is demonstrated with the system NaCl + ⊿BaCl 2  as an example. From the solubility curves obtained one finds a free enthalpy of solution of (0,81 ± 0,05) eV.
