In order to calculate the electrical conductivity of a plasma an approximate formula has been derived which is based on an improvement of the expression corresponding to a Lorentzian gas. The deviation from the exact solution (which is based on the Boltzmann equation of a plasma) is in most cases lower than 5% and will exceed this deviation only in exceptional cases.
