An analysis of the rotational spectra in torsional excited states is given for propane, dimethylsilane and dimethylsulfide. The analysis is based on the Hamiltonian for the quasi-rigid model. The potential barrier V 3  and one additional potential coefficient V′ 12  were determined. The splitting within the multipletts could be reproduced, but not the spacing between them.
