The main aim of the presented research was to check mechanical response of human body model under loads that can occur during airplane accidents and compare results of analysis with some results of experimental tests described in literature. In simulations the VIRTHUMAN model was used. The authors focused on conducting calculations for the case introduced in FA Regulations Parts 23.562 and 25.562. The analysis consists in comparison of compression load measured in lumbar section of spine of the FAA HIII Dummy (experimental model) and in the Virthuman (numerical model). The performed analyses show satisfactory agreement between experimental data and simulated Virthuman responses.Hlavním cílem výzkumu bylo ověření mechanické odezvy modelu lidského těla při zatížení, které může nastat při nehodách letadel. Zároveň bylo cílem porovnat výsledky analýzy s experimentálními daty dostupnými v literatuře. Při simulacích byl využit model VIRTHUMAN. Autoři se zaměřili na případy popsané v normách FAR, část 23.562 a 25.562. Analýza spočívala v porovnání kompresní síly v bederní páteři naměřené na figuríně FAA HIII (experiment) a vypočtené pomocí modelu VIRTHUMAN. Provedené analýzy vedly k uspokojivé shodě mezi experimentálními daty a simulací. Archive of Mechanical Engineerin
