The dielectric barrier discharge consists of numerous non-thermal microdischarges which are temporally and spatially distributed within the reactor volume. From a refined modeling of microdischarges, chemical reactions, and the interaction of discharges and process gas, the properties of the reactor can be evaluated. Quantitative results for the ozone generation process are presented.
