In this paper, we consider acceptance sampling plans assuming ahalf exponential power life distribution and a life test that istruncated at a preassigned time. For various acceptance numbers,confidence levels and values of the ratio of the true meanlifetime to the specified mean life, we determine the minimumsample size necessary to ensure a certain mean lifetime. Theoperating characteristic function of the sampling plans and theassociated producer's risks are derived and also discussed. Weillustrate the use of the acceptance sampling plans based ondisplayed tables with some numerical examples.
