In der Literatur zum Verhältnis von Innovation und Partizipation wird oft übersehen, dass die Öffnung der innerbetrieblichen Innovationsprozesse für die eigenen Mitarbeiter ebenfalls eine Innovation darstellt. Partizipation als Innovation trifft dabei auf eigene Widerstände, deren Überwindung nicht ihrerseits durch Partizipation bewältigt werden kann. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Problems arbeitet der Beitrag anhand einer Fallstudie eines Low-Tech-Fertigers partizipationsbezogene Innovationsbarrieren heraus und zeigt, wie diese mithilfe einer Mitarbeiterbefragung adressiert und bewältigt werden können.
