Für das etablierte Portal CrossAsia soll ein web-basiertes Single-Sign-On-Verfahren auf Grundlage von Shibboleth eingeführt werden. Der herkömmliche Shibboleth-Workflow mit einer bilateralen Kommunikation zwischen einem Identity- und einem Service-Provider ist hier jedoch nicht einsetzbar, da CrossAsia unabhängig von einer Heimateinrichtung Berechtigungsattribute für den Zugriff auf lizenzierte Inhalte vergibt. Daher ist die Einführung einer Attribut-Kumulation mit Hilfe eines Attribute Providers unumgänglich.
