The makers are very important for selection of somatic hybrids between parent cells . The uses of the amino acid analogue resistance and regeneration ability were effective for selec tion of somatic hybrids (Kameya et at. 1981 , Horn et al. 1983). The present study was undertaken to investigate whether morphogenic ability for plant regeneration and flower initiation and also resistance to p-fluorophenyl alanine and 2 , 4 di chlorophenoxyacetic acid are dominant traits in somatic hybrids formed between cell lines which do and do not carry these traits .
