In this article, the historical development of industry in Çorum Province was studied. After studying the written documents in the pre-republican period, the analyses were made with reference to the industrial censuses made by The State Statistics Institute and the historical development of industry in Çorum was given. The province of Çorum is located in an area between the central Anatolia and The Black Sea regions. The area has been heavily in inhabited for economic reasons in history just as it is today. Although the economic activities remaining from the time of Hitites have been interrupted at intervals in history, they have been actively in progress to date. Since the republican period, the industry has rapidly developed due to the facts that Çorum was taken among the privileged provinces of progress especially in 1972, the completion of the Organized Industry Region in 1985, and the implemented encouragement policies.
