Modeling plants with detailed features is an interesting but challenging topic. A graphical toolkit for modeling 3D plants is presented in this paper. The proposed toolkit consists of a series of key modeling algorithms and a pipeline to create 3D plants with detailed features. In this toolkit, detailed features such as flower buds, leaf buds and internodes can be fully modeled and displayed instantly. These detailed features can reflect the richness of plants and the varied plant appearances in different seasons, which is necessary for applications such as the botany education, scientific research and high-end video products. The toolkit has been applied in plants modeling and the designed 3D models have been used in studying botany knowledge and training agricultural planting technology.
