Human beings need to maintain their life as a social entity and as a result they communicate with other people in order to meet their physical, emotional and cognitive needs, to develop themselves, to develop from many angles and to maintain their lives. Because it is a necessity for a person who lives as a social being to be in contact with other members of society. The individual must have assertiveness behavioral characteristics in order to exist in the society. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the level of assertivenes of university students and demographic variables. The study was carried out with a total of 243 university students who were volunteers, 107 (44.03%) women and 136 (55.97%) men. The Voltan-Acar Self-Determination (assertiveness) Scale and the personal information form prepared by the researcher were used in the study. T-test for binary comparisons, one-way analysis of variance for multiple comparisons (Anova) was used. The obtained data were analyzed in the SPSS 22 packet program.According to the results of analysis, gender, violence exposure, health problem, substance use and income level variables did not make a meaningful difference in the level of assertivenes of the students, but parental attitudes, place of residence, self- appreciation, general perception, family structure, father education level and school success variables were found to have a significant difference in the students' assertivenes levels. Findings from the study are thought to help the field worker in identifying and interpreting the levels of assertivenes of the students, in developing and implementing intervention methods for students with low levels of assertivenes and thus in supporting the students' personality development and social skills in the desired direction. Ozet Insan bulundugu toplumun sosyal bir unsurudur ve bunun sonucu olarak fiziksel, duygusal, bilissel ihtiyaclarini karsilamak, kendini gelistirmek ve hayatina devam etmek icin toplumdaki diger bireylerle iletisim kurar. Cunku insanin toplumdaki diger fertlerle iletisim halinde olmasi bir zorunluluktur. Bireyin kendisinin ve digerlerinin haklarini adil bir sekilde savunabilmesi olarak tanimlanan guvengenlik onemli bir ozelliktir. Bu nedenle bireyin toplumda kendini var etmesi icin guvengen davranis ozelliklerine sahip olmasi gerekir. Bu arastirma, universite ogrencilerinin guvengenlik duzeylerini demografik degiskenlere gore ele alan bir calismadir. Calisma gonullu olan 107 (%44.03%) kadin, 136 (%55.97) erkek toplam 243 universite ogrencisi ile yapilmistir. Calismada Guvengenlik Olcegi ve arastirmacinin hazirlamis oldugu kisisel veriler formu kullanilmistir. Verilerin analizinde ikili unsurlari kiyaslamak icin t-testi, uc ve daha fazlasi degiskenleri kiyaslamak icin tek yonlu varyans analizi kullanilmistir. Veriler SPSS 22 programinda cozumlenmistir. Analiz sonuclarina gore cinsiyet, siddete maruz kalma, saglik sorunu, madde kullanimi ve gelir duzeyi degiskenlerinin ogrencilerin guvengenlik duzeylerinde anlamli bir farklilik yaratmadigi fakat ebeveyn tutumlari, yasanilan yer, kendini begeni, genel olumlu algi, aile yapisi, kardes sayisi, annenin egitim seviyesi, babanin egitim seviyesi ve okul basarisi degiskenlerinin ogrencilerin guvengenlik duzeylerinde anlamli bir fark olusturdugu saptanmistir. Bu arastirmadan elde edilen veriler, ogrencilerin guvengenliklerinin hangi degiskenlerle iliskili oldugunun belirlenmesinde, guvengenlik duzeyi dusuk olan ogrencilere yonelik mudahale tekniklerin belirlenmesinde, uygulamali calismalarin yapilmasinda ve boylece bireylerin istendik davranislari kazanmalarinin ve sosyal becerilerinin istenilen yonde desteklenmesinde alan calisanlarina yardimci olacagi dusunulmektedir.
