In order to achieve the climate targets there is a need to raise awareness of sustainable mobility solutions and to develop strategies for assessing actions with respect to the potential of CO2 emission savings. Spatial data and GIS methods are suitable for calculating CO2-emissions of individual trips. As there is a trend towards interand multimodal mobility, a GIS-based method is developed to estimate the CO2-eq. emissions of these trips. Two practical examples demonstrate the surplus of the method in the context of awareness-raising and planning practice.
