Urban green spaces show a lot of potential for health and recreation, therefore a good green space supply for the population in urban planning is taken into account. In case there is very little official data available, free and open data can can be used as an alternative for city planning. This paper shows how OpenStreetMap (OSM) data can be used to calculate the accessibility of urban green areas. The results are shown proportional to the area and the buildings. The results show that the use of OSM data for spatial analysis is limited. Due to lack of consistency in the attribution of the spatial information there is room for misinterpretation during the data editing. In addition, there are no comparative values, which hinders evaluation of the results.
