In 2016 the analysis tool called Public Transport Service Quality Levels (PT SQL) was developed within the activities of a group of representatives of regional and national administration within the ÖROK platform. The PT SQL allows the analysis of the quality level of public transport services at any given location within Austria. The PT SQL uses two elements – a method for the categorization each PT stop by the type of public transport service available and the interval of trips offered. The second element is the computation of the spatial areas covered by the seven PT Service Quality Levels with a routing algorithm on the road network. The rules for the computation of the spatial areas of the PT SQL reflect the quality of service offered at a given station – better services leading to more walking distance accepted by a PT user.
