Many universities lack suitable interactive location and routing systems for guests, students and staff. Hence, on-campus orientation is problematic. In order to tackle this problem, the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) has developed a browser-based campus information system. In a next step, this interactive information system was enhanced by routing functionality. This article describes the workflow from the conception via the campus basemap to the fully functional web app with 3D routing and shows potential for future work.
